Re: rear strut brace
Some random google searches...
do a search on ebay.de for ` domstrebe hinten calibra ` and you will find some, just send them a message asking if they post to UK as they never list post to over here
Wiechers is the company that make them; if you are really keen they do a roll cage for Calibra too.
Roll cage aside, if you are doing rear strut brace, definitely look at Whiteline rear ARB too ( infact look at them before rear brace)
a quick google on 'wiechers and calibra' will reveal plenty of internet sellers.
Not tried them myself though...

The thicker the rear arb the less understeer you will get.
Found a whiteline 18mm (standard??) or 20mm (oversize) arb kit from here 18mm £105.25 or £140.98 for a 20mm oversize
Expensive though if the oversize pushes you to an oversteering car...

Ooooo looks like the Bishops finger distracted me toomaybe the tubby has a stronger rear end because of the rear transmission system and mounting points....

the turbo axel fits on to any rear subframe so that cant be it could be because there might be more twist with the power going to the rear, i would think any strut would be an improvment. Iv a 16v front brace in the shed might see how had it would be to make it fit, it should be bigger might just need cut and rewelded

It must need a slight 'outward' tension (perhaps +1 or 2mm) between the suspension turrets though, to counter the body flex and keep everything tight.

Re: rear strut brace
A single bar strut brace doesn't really work on the rear, you need an X brace.
I'll see if I can get some pix of mine emailed to me.
Whiteline rear ARB is a cracking upgrade. Stiffening rear end increases traction on the front hence reducing understeer. Best combined with adjustable suspension like Koni Sport or Bilstein B8 particularly on front.
