rear back plates question

rear back plates question

hi,can some one tell me how hard it is to change the rear back plates please and do i need to take the hub off.
im hopeing the hub dosn't have to come off.

You can cut a slot into them and bend one part back then fit them, think its in the haynes manual.

thanks for the reply.
in the haynes it does say remove the hub,
was just wondering if there way a way to do it with out removing it as the bearing will probably get destroyed.

if they can be cut and bent around and wiggled in to place like you say than thats great news.

Im sure ive read that they can be done that way ! still somebody's bound to come along and puts us right :)

i had to change the back plates on my bmw 318 and i cut them a wiggled them in.ive never done any work on the rear of a calibra tho.ive got to change all the breakes at the rear,pads ,shoes,discs i got all the new parts with the car so its just fitting them now.
