Tyre pressures

by cornishtaz » Thu Apr 10, 2008 11:15 pm

I was checking my tyre pressures today and 3 of them were at 40psi and the other was low at 25psi.

As I've got aftermarket wheels fitted I can't seem to find anywhere what the correct pressure should be. My wheels and tyres are 215/45/17's, I'm thinking of adjusting them so the fronts are 34psi and rears 30psi.

Ca anyone let me know if this is correct or not

Recommended tyre pressure is 34 psi front / 31.5 psi rear.

That figure is for the original factory fit so it would be the same even though I've got wider but lower profile tyres?

It what i use and most tyre fitters say same pressure as original tyres hence why you can't find any info on tyre pressures for aftermarket wheels.

A smaller tyre size has no bearing on the required pressure as all that changes is the volume of air required to inflate it to said pressure.

I have always ran at manufacturers suggestions.
