Brake vibrations!

by tidders14 » Fri Apr 04, 2008 9:19 pm

I know this has been posted before, occaionaly when i brake regardless of weather or speed, i get a wierd vibration through the peal as if its grinding, it doesnt affect the braking and the ABS light doesnt come on! Ive have new pads fitted, might it be they were put on incorectly, they were fitted about four months ago, but car has only been doing this for about a month! Cheers!

Could be a stone stuck somewhere, maybe betwwen the disc and pads or the back plate

I have a similar problem mine almost sounded like a gear not meshing intermittantly on braking but coming from the front left side the pads are fine  , ive looked underneath behing the disk and i can see the ABS ring has shiney metal all the way round the teeth but the rest is rusty, i suspect the wheel bearing needs a look, but the weather is not all that good so ill let you know how i get on, or maybe this story rings alarm bells for someone else who would like to give some input, PLEASE LOL

when changed your pads where your discs scored badly did they need replacing too or are they warped is your brake dust plate secure is it straight all these can be checked without to much trouble or cost before senors become the issue

Hi mate,

I've had the same problem. Turns out it was a split ABS ring. Required a new CV joint.

Go mine of E bay for £20 plus an hours labour in the garage.
