steering rack compatibility

on my cally turbo 1992i have a problem with steering when driving in a straight line if i slightly turn right there is a resistance or notch.also when parking on full lock left there is a rotatoinal clicking. replaced track rod ends and had tracking done so is it the rack?if so i'm scrapping a 1990 16v cally are the racks the same?
