Stiffer standard suspension

Any issues relating to suspension, steering and brakes.

I have a Calibra V6 on standard suspension and standard 15" alloys with 195/60/15 tyres, I want to make the ride much firmer than it is now as it handles like a barge at present, but I don't want to lower the car at all (I often have a full car of passengers/full boot etc.) can anyone recommend me a decent set of shock absorbers to make the ride firmer? I'm assuming it's still on the original 12 year old suspension set up, so would I need to change the springs as well as the shock absorbers, or can I get away with just changing the shock absorbers only?

Shocks definately need changing as they make wheezing sort of noises every time I go over bumps.

Thanks.

I would reccomend the koni ajustables, you can then set how firm you want it really easy. their minimum setting is firmer than standard but fairly comfy, the firmest setting will break your backbone. so plenty of scope :)

if the springs are badly rusted or saggy then it woudlnt hurt to change them also while youre at it. the rears are easy to do anytime, but changing the front shocks is a good time to change the front springs. depends how much £££ they are and what you're willing ot pay.

So could I use standard springs (existing or brand new) with Koni adjustables?
