by calibra_v6_dtm » Wed Feb 22, 2006 4:19 pm

Hi guys,

i'm after some new tyres for my V6, 215/40/17 i think is what i need.

seen some nankangs on ebay for about 43quid each, just wondered what

the verdict is on them if they are any good or not?

the others on there are ling long's or something not sure about those though

never heard of the brand before, and some falkens for 195 for set of 4 are falkens any good?

Thanks Matt

Im the opposite, when I bought my redtop a year ago it had 4 nankangs, one had a defect in the wall and one blew up on the motorway.

Im running GT Continentals now.

i run falkens on my calibra paid 44 at tyre at r-tec for 205/40r17 as for being budget not really because in most of the popular sizes they are cheap being the size above is fitted to most small cars running 17's
how ever 215/45r17 which i want are 20 quid per tyre more expensive

Thats a rip off! I had 215/35 18 Nankangs fitted to my calibra and they cost £75 for two including fitting, balancing and new valves.

There not bad tyres at all, i was impressed with them!

Which particular Nankangs are you guys referring to? I've seen the NS-2's advertised last time I was looking, probably gonna need some tyres all round in the next few months,.

nankangs are ditch finders, i replaced a whole set on my mr2 cos it was too scary, a bit of rain felt like ice, and driving in snow just wasnt happening! i used f1s for a short while and they were amazing, but only a short while cos they didnt last long, then i used toyos and they were lot better than nankangs but obviously not as good as f1s but lasted a lot longer.

and now on my calibra ive got tng star performers, were 55 each off www.mytyres.co.uk for 17s, and i still say there better than nankangs!

Where did you get that done? I got same size 18's going on mine tomorrow on my new wheels (8x18 with 215/35 Falkens for 479 new) and at the rate i wear tyres out it would be nice to save a bundle...
