Odd steering problem

by C411BRA » Thu Feb 16, 2006 11:33 am

Every now and again, and only on 2 corners where I live, at half left lock something in the steering makes a loudish buzz.

Any Ideas?

Mine sounds like it is doing a similar thing... when going round quite sharp right-hand bends there is a buzzing type sound coming from the front passenger side wheel. I suspect this is a worn wheel bearing as Alco's was doing the same a few weeks ago and the bearing was worn.
Not sure if it will be the same as yours as it only does it on 2 corners... but its another idea and something that's cheap to replace...

Thanks for that, I'm wondeing if its the belt slipping or something. It doesnt do it at a stand still, well it does, but only if you hold it at full lock either way. And rather than a wheel bearingy sort of noise i guess its more like the sound of letting a trump go when sitting on a plasic chair. Odd description, I know, but thats all I can liken it to.

PMSL... can't say that I've ever heard ANY car make that noise :icon_mrgr

My belt also squeals when got full lock on but never while driving (apart from some other belt that does ) so I doubt its that...
