Any issues relating to suspension, steering and brakes.

Strutbraces.

Fitted my strutbrace today (from Strutbracer..where else)
anyone else had problems with the fit? It seems really tight round the suspension mounts until doing the bolts up which seems to pull it slightly out of position. I checked and marked it all out first before taking the drill to it, and although it looks nice and blingy i am not sure if it will be doing the intended job of counteracting some of the corner roll.
I fitted it at my works this evening and i didn't really notice any difference driving home even cornering quite hard. It is fitted very securely. No play on it at all.
Opinions please?

what sort of ends are on it ...does it have two rings that go right round the turrrets or just a bit that bolts onto it

2 rings right round the turrets. I'll post a pic tomorrow evening m8, you can see it better than me trying to explain what may just be me being cautious.

nite nite lol

See pix. The bolts are tight as they get, but it looks like its been pulled out of true. I think i might slacken the whole thing off and see if i can clamp it down somehow before trying them tight again.

looks like my one (Sparco) , and never noticed any difference with mine...but there again never fitted it for that reason as they have their drawbacks

induces over-steer

Cheers Fraz, Since posting I have "re-set" it and tightened the outer most bolts first then the inners and it sits alot better now.

Just for anyone else reading this thread, if you intend fitting a sparco brace, either be prepared to drop the struts out or risk taking more of the skin off your knuckles. There is ZERO space to work around the inner bolts. I ended up using an open end spanner with blue tack to hold the nut in place behind the coils, while trying to spin the bolt thru from the inside of the bay.

somehow i dont think mine would look quite right with a towbar. BUT, it would make reversing into gaps to small for my car a breeze. I promise the day i fit a towbar to this will be the same day i fit roofbars and a big halfords luggage box on the top and go touring in france...c'est la vie...viva la cally !!!!!!!
