air in pas system?

by complaints69 » Sun Jan 29, 2006 10:51 pm

Have read through some posts about pas as mine is whining away good and propper.
I don't drive it much (only at weekends really) and today i heard this noise.

I read on one post that air could be causing this noise. How does the air get in there?

I done the whoosh earlier, and the fluid level was on the min mark, the engine was warmed up after a 2 mile drive, does that mean that the pas fluid is warm too? I am thinking no, but maybe wrong.

I did notice too that there were quite a few small air bubbles floating on the top of the fluid when checking the level.

What are other peoples experiences with this subject?

There are no min or max levels. just a cold and warm level, so if its been used a bit and is on the lower one you could top it up a bit. low level does make it whine, but it doesnt sound hugely low.
