there is a fault with my 93 16v on the ABS ECU i have checked connections&power to it, I think I kneed to change it. anyone done it before? It looks like the cables that enter the valve block from the ECU are soldered, is it easy to change?

there should be one or more screws (depending on your abs type. there are 3 models out there) that loosen the cover from the block, where the cables go inside. take the cover off, and voila: a plug and some relays. check them out

I can get to the plug and the relays (the relays are fixed), I have done the handy paper clip test and i get 55 as fault code which is a faulty ABS ECU, but to me it looks like a bundle of cables leave that unit (with the cover your talking about) and go into the hydraulic valve block, they appear to be soldered? is it the whole unit that needs replacing when they say faulty ABS ECU? Cheers mate!
