What could the clunk be?
What could the clunk be?
I have a clunk coming from what seems to be the driver side front.
When i pull away it happens, just a single clunk, then if i were to slow down again it will happen again, 1 clunk. When i then accelerate from where i slowed down it will happen again (situation im trying to get across here is driving in town, keep stopping then starting)
Does anybody have any idea what it could be? Ball joint? Driveshaft?
Thanks in advance

I have this also and i dont know what it is, i changed drivers side lower arm and anti-roll end link and still makes a clunk.
Could be driveshaft or subfram bolts need torqing up.

might sound far-fetched, but brake caliper, loose bolt top or bottem could cause it. When you accelerate, it pushes the caliper away and on braking pulls it forward. Dunno. worth a look if you find nothing else. Cant think of anything else on the front end that hasn't already been mentioned.
Just check everything. Make sure everythings tight and no bolts appear missing.
Anti-roll drop links, or torsion bar pendulems, whatever you want to call em sounds the most obvious place to go first.

not that far fetched, quite a common 306 problem!

To update the story. Had the wishbones changed on friday. It is now like a new car. The amount of random noises has been greatly reduced. I used to get steering wheel shake at 60ish mph, gone, i used to get a slight shudder from passenger side when braking, now gone also.
I had the garage fit them for me, but well worth the money id say.
