Camber kit - ******* OFF!!

by Cheater2k » Mon Sep 26, 2005 8:04 pm

Right, aftering fitting a camber kit from CAV16, fitted it (took me 11 hours)

now, i had it set up on the 13/9 by demon tweeks, checked my rear tyres today, and there ****ed!!! and i mean really ****ed, it didnt even wear this quick on the normal bushes

Does anyone have any ideas?

Ive phoned tweeks, they told me to bring it in 8:30 tommrow morning, but how do i stand claiming new tyres from them?? i paid them to set the bushes up?? and by the looks of it, they havnt??

gggrrrr, i just dont have the money for 4 ****ing new tyres esp with a 15 days old son!!!!!

how does it look to you? the camber on the wheels?
I've heard of improperly installed/setup bushes slip.. but i've never had a probelm with mine, but if they look a lot worse than just after they installed them its likely thats the problem
did you get a geometry printout report from them after they installed them?

tweeks are checking for me first thing in the morning (8:30am)

the wear is on the very very inside edge of the tyre with the thread starting to show

if its slipped, how do i stop it from doing so?

I don't really know how it slipped, but iv'e heard people in the past talk about it.
Does the toe look ok? could it be scrubb from tracking or is it obviously from camber?

would it cost you much to get it verified at an independant garage? i'd be dubious to take it to the same place.. it might miraculously be "correct" if they think they're going to have to lump out for new tyres.. unless they're not that sort of place.. your best judgement.

yeah , i know the brand name, but with a lot of these big firms thats all it is. doesnt allways mean much.
I think you stand a pretty good chance here though.. afterall it has to be a LONG way out to cause such damage in such a short ammount of time, its not like they're "real" drive wheels even.

That is ruling out bad tyres of course.. what make/model and size/pressure are you running them?

Dunlop SP9000, not worn a huge ammount, look near enough new to be fair before the camber kit was fitted. i did the camber kit because it was out 3 degrees when i got the tracking done, thats why i ddi the rear camber to put it right

running on irmcher softstars 17s. (215/40?45/17)

no in 500 miles the inside edge ONLY is to the thread??? on standard shocks, ircscher springs (soon to be koni shocks and apex springs)
