ABS problem
When i start the car, all the lights go out as usual, but the first time i press the brake, i can feel as if something is activating the ABS for a second, then it stops and the ABS light comes on.
Any ideas whats causing it? Dodgy brakes, or ABS unit thingy?

I'd go for the wheel sensors first, clean them and clean the toothed edges on the drive shafts / rear wheeels too. cost nothing to clean them up, and they pick faults up easy. But that's just a stab in the right direction - only ever had one fault with ABS on a Vaux (a Cav at that) and it was a wheel sensor dead (light on all the time)

I found that the best way to get the front ones clean was to jack the whole of the front of the car up. You'll understand why below!
But here's the steps I used...
1. Loosen your wheel nuts on both the front wheels
2. Jack the front of the car up.
3. Put some axle stands under the front.
4. Remove both the front wheels.
5. Turn the steering hard lock to one side.
6. Have a look behind the brake discs and you should see a cogged wheel.
7. Take a wire brush and rotate the drive shaft by turning the disc (You would not be able to do this with only one side lifted) clearing all debris off.
8. Lightly spray the cog wheel with some WD40
9. Repeat steps 5 - 8 for the other side.
Then do the same for the rear (you don't need to lift the whole back for the 2 wheel drive cally, but it tends to make the job quicker).
Hope this helps....!:thumb:

Rubbish, it should be an open diff so if the car is out of gear they should turn
