cannot remove rear spring!

That certainly dosn't look right. Have you tried putting the springs other way round?!!!

Can you bounce the rear of the car at all or does it feel like its resting against something?!!!

I wouldn't dirve it like that tbh. if the springs aren't in properly then you risk loosing the springs and the rear of your car!!!

Put the std springs back there again and see what diff that makes?!!!
ANd as stu suggested, try fitting them without the bump stop. See what happens?!!!

have tried the other way round, with and without bumpstop, moved arms up and down without spring to see if something was stopping it moving, I am driving it at the moment but I got a few days off to put the old ones in. They are quite happy to replace the springs.
The car bounces ok.
