Would these brakes fit?

Any issues relating to suspension, steering and brakes.

i was servicing a astra h 1.6 16v the other day and noticed they use a 288mm disc with 4 stud but you would need to use the calibra turbo callipers. if you use calibra turbo discs you will need to get a ring made up 4 between the disc and hub to centralize the disc on the hub aswell as drilling other holes.im not sure about the astra h centers if they are the same or not.if they were it would be a straight forward swap.

astra h? What mark/age is that? Presume I could use my current calipers with the discs in the above link?
Seems the most attractive option for me would be to use the astra 288mm discs and calibra turbo calipers...
Is the only difference between the astra discs and the calibra turbo discs the fact that the astra discs are 4 stud and the calibra turbo discs are 5 stud?
If the astra centres were not the same, what would it take to get them to fit?

the astra was a 05 model.if the centre was smaller i suppose a good machine shop would manage to turn out the centre tofit the calibra.if the centre was bigger you would need to get a spacer ring made up to fit between the hub and disc.i fitted calibra turbo discs on to mine i had to get spacers made for mine and re drilled other holes.

Presume drilling the other holes is just a case of using a power drill and mashing through it? Where did you get the spacers made? How much were they?

My suggestions may sound stupid....but I have no real experience with cars. We all have to learn somewhere.
Also, thanks for the link

if you dont really know what your doing my advice is dont start finding out by playing with brakes lol

whats your reasoning for not trying some grooved discs and new pads?

My car is currently sitting at my dads garage. When I come to actually use it about June I'm told my breaks will have ceased and I'll have to buy new breaks. I thought because I'm going to be about £100 for brakes I may aswell get second hand good condition brakes which are better than standard calibra brakes. For one, it would make it safer and two in my opinion the current brakes look a bit pathetic.
I don't do things to my car on my own, I have friends who are mechanically minded, I just need to find out the correct information and thought this would be the best place for that.
So basically, my reasoning is that why stay with the standard brakes if I can get better brakes for the same...or not much more money.

I see what your saying, i'd never buy second hand brakes personally but I used to work in a car breakers and a surprising amount of people did so I guess its your call .... best of luck whatever you do ....

btw I left a calibra sitting outside under a tree (with the handbrake on!) for over 15 months and the brakes unceased within 10 meters!

yes I've done the same with a car that stood for over a year, save your money for now and see how the brakes are, btw if you become a member of the club you can then use our trade account, you'd be suprised how cheap new discs would then be

Anyone know the price of the turbo/v6 calipers without discount?
What price would it be for drilled and grooved discs with/without discount.
Thanks.
