I have a faulty abs sensor.

Any issues relating to suspension, steering and brakes.

Sorry to gatecrash the thread fellas, but I'm getting an intermittent flickering of the ABS light and had a look underneath at the rings. Although I cant be 100% sure that there's no cracks, they all look very rusty and worn like that one in the first picture.

I was wondering what was involved in removing them and fitting new ones?

Also, Andi, as well as the ABS light coming on, did you find at any point, that the ABS "kicks in" for a second when you are braking after you have first started the car and driven a few yards down the street? Mine does.

Got a mate with a Tech 2, I should really either get him to check it out or grab a paperclip I 'spose!!

Yes those were the symptions.

The rings are not replacable as there not made for the 29 tooth type.

But they can be cleaned.

AndiSe5, how did you find out your ABS wasn't working - the light on the dash?

My abs light is on aswell. I had it plugged into a machine at the garage and its come up "ABS sensor, left front".

Mechanic said the sensor is about £50, is that about right?

Breeze, yeah the light came on and off so decided to check out the fault using the paperclip method. Anyway went to clean the rear sprockets and there was a massive crack in it one.
