ET38 ok?

i have 215/40/17 tyres on et 40, 8" rims lowered 35mm and i would say that is perfect visually. drivability is not so clever at slow speeds, tramlining etc, but at 160mph plus straight as a die! oh and no scrub(until i crashed )

lowered? mine are ET40 lowered 35-40mm and was slighty rubbing on front,although since stiffening front shocks to their max i dont have probs now

i think this thread has just answered the question i was going to ask.

my calibra is lowered approx 30mm, fitted with 7x17's (i think et40) and 215/40 tyres and it tramlines quite badly. its ok on B roads but my daily drive to work is 25 miles each way on a busy A road and it's all over the place, especially when braking hard for a roundabout at the end of a dual carrageway.

my question.

is it the 215 tyres, the et40 or a mix of both that would cause this?
