Disc upgrade

by slugger_2003 » Sun Mar 18, 2007 11:49 pm

I went to see my car sitting at a garage just to see what's happening. I was a bit surprised when I looked at the new discs as they look to be larger than the one's that came off. If the calipers are still the same (they look to be and was told they were only going to change the discs) surely the discs are the same size as they were before?
Have I been seeing things? lol

I spent quite a while looking for parts and just went home this weekend. I thought while I was at my dads car garage I would take a look at my car to make sure it was still there and hadn't been let out as a coutesy car lol. To my surprise it was in one of the working sheds with new parts on which i specifically told them not to do as I would get the parts myself. Parts are on now though, just have to bare the brunt of full price parts!
So because of this I have no idea of what kit they put on...

They can't be any bigger or the calipers wouldn't fit over the discs, theres only a couple of mm clearance.

They're probably just shiney

Yeah EY that's what I was thinking. Either that or they could perhaps be g60 discs as apparently they fit fine into the calibra set-up. No, thankfully my dad is not Mr Kwick Fit Just one of his "side project" business's...entrepreneurs these days eh!
When I'm home I'll give the car a wash (aint been washed or used in like 6 months) and try and get some recent pics posted here.

Either that or the calipers may require larger carryer (spelling?) brackets. When you buy LMF's large brake upgrade - 308mm, they simply provide the same calipers as the standard turbo ones which would normally be for 288mm but give you larger brackets at the same time.
Just an idea.
