16v Brakes 1994
Hi all,
Just asking for opinions really. My 1994 16v model's brakes are a bit poo. I never really noticed before until I got in my dads new vectra & then more recently a brand new VW touran.
I mean they make the car stop, but you have to use a bit more leg muscle and think about it a bit sooner than you would in a new car.
Have 16v (X20XEV) calibra brakes always been poo or is this old car syndrome?
I was looking at the LMF 288mm disc & V6 caliper upgrade for £215 & a set of braided hoses. Will these make a noticable improvement at all?
I've already cleaned the breaks up is there anything else I should look at like replacing the fluid or something?

I agree with Phantom, but you can do the V6 upgrade cheaper than that, if you get a set of pads+discs from vauxhall and a pair of calipers and carriers from a scrapyard you're set.
All you have to do is get the discs redrilled to four stud.
Pads for 288mm are cheaper than pads for 308mm iirc? Could be wrong though.
