I had a bump, well when i say bump i mean i hit a lamp post sideways. Any way it wason the drivers side exactly where the rear wheel is that hit it. Ive now had the body work sorted (new rear panel, Inner & outer arch) and the wheel straightened. I put the wheel back on the car today and its about 1.5 inchs further in than before. The other side doesnt really seem to stick out more than before. Im just after any ideas of what it could be. Any suggestions welcome . Thanks guys. Dan.

Check the suspension. That doesn't sound good at all.

Im hoping its a suspension thing rather than a scary twisted chassis thing. Needless to say i wont be driving it til its sorted!

a friend had the same kind of accident, and after getting the body straight it was in a lot. the problem turned out to be the lower suspension arm. it was bent like heck when he compared it to a new one.
i hope that this is your problem, because it is not expensive and not hard to replace either

Is the trailing arm & suspension are the same thing. Im really really really hoping it is this. Cheers for the post so far guys!

get it checked, but you can check yourself with a few side to side comparisons that they've put the wing back in the right place!!! maybe the wheel hasnt moved.
Altho it is the more likely option.
