handbrake

The handbrake on my eco is only holding 1 side.

It needs new discs and pads on the back anyway.

Is it just going to be a case of replacing the disc/drum, handbrake shoes and adjusting the cable or is it likely to need something else?

Its an N reg 16v ecotec

I replaced my rear drums, pads and shoes and fitted a new handbreak cable, Changed the flexi brake hose for some black diamond ones from Fatz and through the MOT and back out with a clean bill of health

It should give equel pull on each side any way due to the way they are cabled up, I am guessing it is where the pads are getting low....
... Rob, do your brakes feel any better now you have fuitted all that lot???

Oh yes

I did the whole brake system

new grooved front/rear discs.
New pads all round.
new handbrake shoes.
new handbrake cable.
black diamond stainless steel hoses front/rear.
new brake fluid.

my handbrake cable was only holding on one side and a mate suggested changing for a new one as it might have stretched it on one side.

The 2 parts of the cable used to pull the handbrake shoes are not made of equal lengths, and my old one was definitely stretched. i noticed it when i placed the old next to the new.
