Nocking noise
1st of all i just want to say a big hello to the forum members as this being my 1st post here
Heres my problem
i noticed a nock from the front end of the car "N/S" it only ever does it after i have reversed and then drive forward.. all other time its o.k, so i thought its the lower bushes. the car was up for an m.o.t so i took it into the garage and you guessed it.. Failed on both wishbone bushes, after spending 4hrs in the rain & mud replacing the wish bones "What a bit*@".. and its still doing that nock noice after i reverse it.. i never looked at the anti-roll bar cos it didnt fail on the m.o.t
has any one come across this problem before ?
also i just remembered the the car seems to pull to the left when driving.. but its not that bad...
Cheers guys

<!--QuoteBegin-Stupink+--><div class='quotetop'>(Stupink)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->sounds like the caliper might be binding.. jack that side up and see if its free to spin? the pads could be clunking as they move back/forth in the caliper <!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->

ill check it out 2moz.. when my g/f was in the car and it nocked she said that it felt it.. also when setting off from the news agent at 6.45am after reverseing and then setting off there was 2 people talking in the street and they turned there heads at me
... so it must be quite load from the out side of the car.
but ill check your idea out 2moz

Many of the aftermarket wishbones have oversized holes through the bushes and require inserts to be fitted. Without these, the wishbone could be moving backwards and forwards as the car changes direction.
This could also explain why the car is now pulling to the left as well.

Thats interesting to hear. i've never heard of that before.. Are you talking generally, or specifically the cally ones?
I went for brakes pads etc on this one as pretty much anything else that could be doing it ought to have been picked up for the mot.. however... and it is a big however.. it *ought* to have been picked up.. probably the most stupid assumption you can make..

Toyota Mr-2 roadster turbo
I'm led to believe its so they can be more "universal" but don't quote me on that. Its been experienced by other people on here before including myself. The place which supply the wishbones should also be able to provide you with the inserts/spacers (what ever you wanna call them) to make the hole the correct size so that the bolt fits snuggly inside when fitted to the car.
This isn't to rule out what has been said already though...it could still be the top mount as well.
