a few questions

changed my front brakes today, but now there spongy as hell, tryed bleeding them (front and back) but to no avail. one point is that the backs really need changing too, im gonna get the parts tommorow and try that???

also since bleeding the rears the handbrake light dosnt go off?

any thoughts

The fronts take time to bed in and will be crap for 500 miles.

Have you changed the fluid?

£50 for full set of stainless brake lines is a sound investment.

havent changed the fluid just bled the system, but there really spongy and unresponcive, loads of pedal travel

I'd be tempted to bleed them dry, add fresh fluid and make sure you put maximum pressure on the pedal when tightening the nipples.

Not best to bleed them dry as this can cause the seals in the master cylinder to flip giving you iriversable damage.

Just keep bleeding the system at the shortest pipe distance first to replace old fluid and keep topping up throughout. Then do the other lines till fresh fluid has passed through.

cheers boys, im gonna swap the rear pads tomoro to make sure anyway. then ill bleed them again i'll grab some fresh fluid while i'm at it.
