Lowering springs

by The_IceMan » Sat Oct 01, 2005 12:25 pm

I was wondering if anyone does springs any lower than a 60mm drop for the front. I've got -60's all round on mine at the mo and although the back looks perfect the front still looks a little high in the arches compared with the back and i wud like to lower the front a little more, something like 70mm or even 80mm if possible.

Cheers

I think the only way you'll get that low is with airbags

Hmmm dont wanna go that route really, ive seen specs on other calibras in the past with 80mm springs and i know Spax do a 70/50mm kit but ideally just want the fronts. Cud do with finding a company that will make them for me.

-60 should be more than enough,
are they defo -60 all round, did you put them on yourself ?
reason I ask is a pal of mine bought a car a few years ago with a -60 drop all round.
one of the front springs snapped and when he took the fronts out they were -40 so the previous owner told him a bit of a porky !

Yeh there def -60, fitted ordered and fitted em myself. i mean it is fairly low at the front, infact the car itself sits level i think. I just reckon it wud look better and handle slightly better if the front was slightly lower than the back. Its how ive had most of my cars set in the past and seems to do the trick

different shocks might be in order for that low

also a spare credit card fr tyres.

LOL well ive already got different shocks on that will take the drop ok, and not too bothered bout tyres at the mo as i get them for trade, i might wait till the engine conversions done first though and see if the extra weight drops it any.
