Knocking and squeaking

<!--fonto:Times New Roman--><span style="font-family:Times New Roman"><!--/fonto--><!--sizeo:3--><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:100%"><!--/sizeo-->On my V6 there is a squeak which sounds to me like it’s coming from the front drivers wheel area, it’s not there all the time, seems to get worse when accelerating or decelerating. There’s also a clunking which seems to be worse when going round corners (it’s there when not on full lock as well).<!--sizec--></span><!--/sizec--><!--fontc--></span><!--/fontc-->

I have put some STP injection cleaner in there but it doesn’t seem to have made a difference. I have spoke to the guy who did my bushes and brakes and he said the CV gator was definitely not damaged. from what i can make out this must be your problem so. in fairness the hardest part was getting the bolt out cos it was seized on mine. if that wasnt the case its a job you could do in a few minutes yourself, part is only a few bob although you will need to get the tracking done once it has been replaced but this could all be done for the 40 u are going to give VX to tell you the same thing.

Sounds like your shocks, or at least one of them. The bounce test dosen't seem to work very well because the springs are quite stiff they don't bounce on them. Also have you checked the springs to make sure they're not broken? They're not always claerly visible. Mine passed an mot with both rear springs snapped at the top.
