fan cut in switch (turbo)

by ecosseM » Tue Sep 09, 2008 8:25 pm

had a wee problem with my car tonight..
on way home temp went sky high, above 100c and NO fan cut in..
got home and did the thing.. join the wires together to run all the time..(brown and brown/white)
but..
there is one more wire in there, a brown/yellow one, does anyone know what thats for? (to be on the safe side.. joined the wires together and plugged back it because of this wire)

last thing
does anyone know if there is such a sensor that can be fitted to the turbo, in place of the standard one that brings the fan on sooner?

could you not put a switch that turns it on when you need it (like a over ride switch)

yeh.. could run 2 wires into the car, run/connect them in the car threw a switch that you can controle, aswell as the standard cut in...

just thought a earlier cut in would be beter/easier

no need to run wires int the car, you just find the wire in the passengers kickplate area ...fit a relay and your done

IIRc the 3 wires are because you have a two speed fan brown white fast brown yellow low speed

There's loads of after market stuff out there. I have this on my manta. click here

It's fully adjustable and does the job very well. You simply cut the radiator top hose and fit this in, wire it to the fan and it's done. I have an override button too.

you can also buy an 82 degree fan switch in place of the standard one, try e-bay for one
