I have the same, what calibra do you have, Ive got an 8valver and not sure if its required, think it might be a 16v thing... Or IMO it could be to do with the outside temp sensor for the trip computer, not sure to be honest...

As Fraz said it's the only thing I can think of that would be hanging down.

Not sure.... I've got a temp gauge on the dash and its getting a reading from somewhere (not that it's ever very accurate)

if you have one it would be either hanging on the wire or if you feel the bottom of the bumber on the inside you will either feel a sensor sticking up from it or a hole where it should be

Sorry, should have been clearer. I have a clock/temp temp gauge which is getting a approx accurate reading even with this unplugged...

The 'plug and socket' thing mentioned sounds like the sensor that should be attached to the inside of the front bumper. I think the little fixing lugs on the sensor have snapped off mine? and thats why its hanging down! It won't fix securely to the locating hole in the bumper withot them.

the sensor isnt dear about £11 from vauxhall , but all the outside temp sensors are all the same from the cali to the vectra, omegas. so you could get one from a scrappie
