What have I done :o?

Ok I was tinkering other day, I just installed under car lights and they were working fine, but wouldnt work with ignition on....so checked all wiring and wahey bobs your uncle and all that they are now working. But now my interior lights dont work (glove box), cd player wont power on and petrol gauge reads wrong (was a full tank but stops 1/4 of way up) and the battery warning light is always on. I have checked the fuses in drivers footwell but they are all fine. I disconnected the power at the battery that was powering the under car lights and neons in the footwell (these are run from the light in the glove box) as it drained my battery out totally...engine just cut out on me while i was driving :S

What you guys reckon I have done? The power going to the glovebox light should be live on ignition but there is no power there...checked the earth already and they are fine. I really dunno what I have done or how to rectify it...is there other fuses that I may have blown that I dont know about? I have a 92 8v just so you know!!

Thanks guys

I would double check the relevant fuses, the fuse for the interior light is also for the clock/trip computer display iirc. Also make sure they are the correct rating, taking into account the extra current being drawn by the new lights.
Alternativley you could take off all the lights, and throw them in the bin
Also sounds like your battery needs a good re-charge, or replacing if it's dead.

this is a really hard one to figure out without knowing the exact connections you have made but it does sound like you've connected something wrong, best way to do this is by process of elimination by disconnecting the things you've recently installed
