Relays for headlights

I've put in the relays straight off the battery to make the headlights stronger, seems to have worked, they're definately brighter, BUT, when I turn them on, the dash light comes on to tell me a globe is faulty, I've checked all globes and they're all fine. Does this always happen if you do this conversion?, or do I have to go and re-check all the other globes?

never happened to me, i got it done but didnt notice much of a difference cost me £100 to get it done aswell!!

I can't believe it cost you that much!! Luckily I have a bit of electronic knowledge so I did it myself. 2 relays at about R20.00 each, and about an hours work!! According to my calculations, that's about 1 pound fifty!!? Anyway I guess I'll have to go and check the rest of the globes again. Btw I also took the front off the lights and cleaned the inside, maybe that also helped, so try that!

it might need a resitor to make the relay have the same resistance as the std bulbs, it reads the resistance to check the bulbs, try a small resistor inline to the relay
