Electric Window gone MAD!!!!!

by criscali » Mon Nov 07, 2005 8:14 pm

Hey all my drivers side window has just developed a mind of its own! if i push the button to stop it on its way up or down, it wont stop, it just moves to a set position, the same everytime, then moves down a bit, then stops. its always the same position, it always moves then stops then moves then stops exactly the same positions everytime. its driving me mad coz i cant figure it out! any ideas?

First step is to try and reprogramme it.

open the door..
press the down button and hold once the window is fully down for another 5 seconds.
repeat with the up button..

see what it does then..

Cheers Stu, tried this but no luck. it still does the same, someone said it might be the printed circuit in the window motor, what do you think?
cheers Cris.

I didn't think there was a pcb on the motors. There is one which is part of the switches though.

So you reckon it could just be a dodgy switch then? might be a good excuse to get rid and replace it with a blue led one
Thanks 4 the advice mate ill have a look!

Stu have you had any luck with your windows mate?

mine are still fried.. i've not had time to look at them really.
there is a controll unit on the motors, but the "ecu" as it were is part of the switch bit in the centre consol

That's the sensor that stops your head getting trapped... you need to grease your rubber!

Clean the rubber on the pillar and apply some grease - I find lithium grease to be the best to use.

(oh, and stop hi-jacking threads )
