Hi I am having a very weird problem with my cally’s standard alarm.

I lock the car and a few seconds later the alarm goes off. I have a Toad alarm on the car also and this seems fine. The Weird thing is I also have a problem that started at the same time as the alarm going off this afternoon where both my left indicators front and back and my left side light are on permanently (not flashing just fixed on).

I have disconnected the power from the indicator paddle switch on the steering consol and yet they still stay on. Could they be being powered from the alarm hence why they stay on?

At the moment I am unable to lock the car so I have had to park it on the drive with a car behind and just alarm it with the toad. Has anyone got any ideas where to look of either fault (i think they are the same thing) or can anyone tell me how to disable the vauxhall alarm short term??

Thanks in advance...

Not that I know the answer to your problem, but can you not even lock the car normally (i.e. turn the key 45 degrees anti clockwise instead of 90 so it doesn't deadlock it).

Just a thought until you fix the problem.

Good luck, I hate alarm problems

just a thought but the standard alarm doesn't flash any lights outside the car. Maybe it's the Toad at fault. Have you tried just arming the standard alarm?

The toad is not armed when the other goes off. Do the lights not flash when the standard alarm goes off??

I will check the Toad to see if because that is damaged and drawing current on the turning lights if the other one is going off due to this power draw.

Is there any way to disarm the Toad alarm? Will it just be connected to the battery and can I just remove it?

If you are ok with electrics, then you could remove the Toad, Find the control box and just follow the wires then cut them out the loom and reconnect the originals. Took me about 1hour to remove a Toad and then 3 hours to refit it in a different car.
Another option is take it to a Toad installer usally about £35-£40 a hour though..
