Lights

Any electrical issues

by cally228 » Thu Dec 23, 2004 8:21 pm

I have recently fitted some lexus lights to my car but having fitted them, my brake light failure bulb won't go out, is there any way I can remedy this problem (without taking the bulb out!)

well I fitted mine and the barke warning light works just fine. As does a few others that have them fitted. Could it be you have a faulty brake light bulb?

seem to remember someone had same probem, IIRC was something to do with the bulbs , changed them for new ones and it cured the problem

just a thought...you dont have a third brake light? (on a spoiler or in the back window)

Swap the bulbs mate. My old volvo turbo had the same thing. Turns out it measures the difference in voltage between the two bulbs and not if one is out. If one bulb is a different make or has been bashed about a bit it could see a difference in voltage between the two although they still work. Grab two new ones from halfords and give it a shot. Failing that make sure all yer earths are tight. Should be a relatively simple thing to fix.

Good luck

Bigun.

Not led bulbs are they? If so you will either have to fit a resister,Or take the warning bulb out.
