outside temperature sensor connection. help pls pls pls

Any electrical issues

Hello!

I finally got round to buying a new outside temperature sensor that shows the outside temp on the onboard computer. HOWEVER, when I took the bumper off there was nothing obvious on what to connect it too!

So, what I am asking is this, can anyone tell me which wires/connectors are supposed to connect to the sensor in the bumper, and if its neither of the ones I have found, what are the ones I have got for?

As I have several pics I haven't uploaded them here I have wacked them on a DIY webpage, pls excuse the crudeness of the design!

Your prompt help, as always will be appreciated!!!

I would GUESS (and I stress GUESS!!) that it will be the two-wire you found rather than the plug.
From what I vaguely remember last xmas when I had the bumper off to swap headlights, it wasn't much wiring to the temp sensor (I'd imagine it's just a thermistor or something that alters resistance with heat, so 2 wires would be enough for the circuit).

That said, usually the connectors are keyed and shaped so you can't really go wrong (well they have to give the average Vaux mechanic a pointer in the right direction after all...), so it would look more like the bigger connection on your pics.

Thank you for taking the time to look, and to reply! I also posted the question on migweb, and the same thing was suggested. Along with the other connector "could" be the headlight washer jets, which makes sense as I don't have these on my car (yet) and thus would explain why there is no sensor on the end of it!

With regard to the two wires, it looks like I have lost the plug off the end of it to clip into the sensor! This is annoying to say the least! I now have to decide whether I try and do a bodge and solder straight onto the sensor, or if I try and replace the plug - which I think may be difficult to nail!

Cheers for your help!
