Full-beam not working

First problem - one main-beam bulb wasn't working, so replaced it and now neither work!
Fuses are fine, so where next to start looking?

(Guess I really should invest in a multimeter... )

Also check for loose connection in the headlight itself, had a problem similiar for a while, in the end i ripped both headlights apart and went over everything re-wired anything that looked crap and put it all back together, done! even my headlight motors work now lol...

Came to visit the folks today, and went to pinch the old man's multimeter... looked at both bulbs, and BOTH which were brand new have both gone pop.

Curious. More digging around needed.
