As above, need to find out which colour relay is for the radiator fan.

I know the relay is located behind the fusebox on it's own bracket, but the manual i have is for a cavalier and doesnt give any info about the fan relay...

On another thread http://www.clubcalibra.net/viewtopic.php?t=28055
Someone called CHIEF has posted some pics of the relay, but the link to the pics is dead...
Any help would be greatly appreciated..
Thanks
Dave

does it have a relay?
not looked, but radiator fan switches on from a temp sensor in the radiator..
ie, if you want it to run all the time, you link those wires

cant see it being on the 8v, unless you got air-con in your se4

Well i dont have air-con so im not sure now.

The cavalier manual i have covers 1988-1990 and says all models have the relay, but they also say the relay is located in the box under the engine bay.
On mine i only have 1 30A fuse in there, but behind the fusebox(incar totally seperate to the fusebox) i have these relays:

I just assumed one of these must be it.
In the link i posted above someone (username chief) posted pictures of it,so if there is a relay on one model,i would imagine it would be the same on all models.

Seems a bit strange that there isnt much mentioned anywhere about these hidden relays.:(

This is sooo annoying :)

Thanks for the info

Dave

there must be a relay for it. the current draw from the fan would be too much to go through the switch otherwise.

on the cooling fan on most of the models the fan is just basicly on/off... this is controled be the temp sensor on your radiator, which opens/closses at set temp and makes the circit to power up the radiator fan.
just out of interest, why you asking about this? whats the prob?

Hi m8,
the problem is i cant get the radiator fan to work..

Tryed shorting the wires on the rad switch, fuse is ok,replaced the actual fan with a known working one...Still just wont work.

you dont cross the wires on the fan..
you cross the 2 wires on the temp sensor on the radiator
