Alarm, am i losing the plot?

Everytime I disconnect the + from the bettery the (factory fitted) alarm goes off, is there a way to prevent this? i.e. have keys in ignition or something?

Did you get the owners mannual with It?

As Haynes tells you to look in that.

Cheers guys, didnt think to look in manual.
It says turn ignition on, then off. then disconnect within 15 seconds.
