v6 alternator problems :(

Any electrical issues

hello im in need of some advice my alternator decided to quit working today and i had to be towed home by me boss :(

hes tested the batt and alternator isnt charging the batt enough so im guessin new alternator or is there a relay or summit that controls this?

ive no clue about the v6 model engine or do other alternators fit the engine?

any advice greatly appreciated :)

hi,just dune mine.probably over heated look and see if the cooling fan for the alternator is working,i got my alternator check for nothing!

i know it aint working matey jinxed me self by reading your post and asking ya whether ya had yours checked.......lol me mate stuck a test meter on batt with engin runnin batt was 11 volts only :(

Just dug through the file and ours cost us 180 plus vat and quote the garage "it was a bugger of a job" sorry to dish out bad news!

il fit it myself just need to find out if another vaux v6 engine would fit ??

i tried an omega...engine was facing other way, was to big although spacing the same on mounts. :blush:

Might be chaeaper to get your's reconditioned, and you would have peice of mind knowing that it's going to last.

car goin to mechanic friday for replacement alternator :)
