Buzzing noise from driver's side door speaker

When I have my stereo on, if I open my driver's door I can hear an intermittent buzzing noise through the speaker, the speaker then stops working and my Sony head unit says "FAIL" on the display, however stereo and other speakers are still working fine.

Also happens if the facia is on the head unit but the stereo isn't turned on, doesn't happen if the facia is not on.

Any ideas?

Hi

Sounds like youve got a short in the loom that feeds the speakers through the door.

Fail probably means failsafe and its just cutting the output to that side to protect itself.

Im not too sure about how or if you can change the short section of wiring between the doors, someone will know [img]/smile.gif[/img]

At some point I might attempt to remove the door card and speaker to investigate further, just wondered if anyone on here had any ideas, but yeah sounds loom related. [img]/smile.gif[/img]
