HID Lights and Angel eyes from ebay
Done a search and im finding lots of conflicting info and advice.
So lets hit it on the head. I have the HID's. Ive heard that they are no use on STD lamps due to scatter but people still passing MOT's
These angel eye kits from ebay, Also problems with beam pattern splitting etc. Whats this all about. I thought the lenses were clear???
I know about the bulb not fitting so a bit of jiggery pokery will be needed to fit.
So whats what. I want to fit the angel eyes with my HID's..... Bottom line - CAN I DO IT???

Lots of people have HID's in standard headlights never heard of beam scatter as the calibra headlights use projector lens.
As for the Ebay angle eye headlights (sonar) it states on the unit not to use HID's but people have without problems, the only thing to do to make them fit is to enlarge the bulb hole to fit the HID bulb.
Go ahead and fit your HID's you won't regret it

I have HID on my cally. It was fitted with no problems (I also have angel eyes! which I think look good, but everyone to their own I suppose)
I did have a problem with the beam being too high and causing dazzle to oncoming traffic. I've sorted that by moving the whole headlight unit slightly to dip them.
I now have clear lenses and have just had it pass its MOT with no probs.
Don't think HID cad be fitted to the projector type units you can get off Ebay? I ended up sending the ones i'd bought back and buying a set of clear lenses from 1lission.

<!--QuoteBegin-JesterV6+--><div class='quotetop'>(JesterV6)</div><div class='quotemain'><!--QuoteEBegin-->On the same subject, say i decided to get some new projector lights (with the black surround, not chrome), would an HID kit fit them, and would the clear lenses come with them or are these a seperate item? I've heard of a few legal issues with clear lenses.<!--QuoteEnd--></div><!--QuoteEEnd-->
These aftermarket headlight units (sonar) do come with clear lenses and it states on the box "not for HID use" but you can fit HID's, its just a matter of making the bulb hole larger to fit the HID.
What legal issues have you heard off ?
