Temp Gauge not working

by Star_Silver_XE » Mon May 22, 2006 4:57 pm

Hi Guys,

The temp gauge in my cally has stopped working. The engine isn't over heating and the fan is cutting in when the cally has been in traffic for long periods so I presume everything is ok, Can anyone tell me where the sensor is so I can check it and does anyone have any ideas as to what it could be?

Cheers

have a look where the top hose goes into the thermostat housing(cam belt side, the blue plug is the coolant temp sensor(ecu)
the single wire is temp gauge sensor,

As above, the wire has a spade connector which is easily pulled off. Touch the wire onto the engine block or another earth, this should send the temp gauge needle up and off the scale, if so it's the sender thats faulty, if not it's the wiring/connectors/gauge.
