These "GO" batteries from Vauxhall.......

I was going to start another thread on 'em, but I thought I would post in here first.

I bought a "GO" battery brand new from my local Vauxhall dealer in January last year.

It was fine up until a couple of weeks ago, when I went out to the car to go out on nightshift, and it was dead, completely flat.

I brought it inside, stuck it on the charger and left it till the next morning. Refitted to the car and it seemed fine. The little "indicator" hole on the battery was totally black, no green disc showing. It's stayed like that till last week, black, when once again, the battery was totally dead one morning.

Same again, stuck it on the charger and it seemed ok again, although once more, the little indicator was still showing totally black.

I've checked out the car's charging system and there's no problem there, which leads me to believe its a faulty battery.

The only reference to the Vaux "Go" battery I can find online is this one:-

<!--coloro:#22229c--><span style="color:#22229c"><!--/coloro--><a href="http://www.carpages.co.uk/vauxhall/vauxhall_trade_club_launches_go_battery_brand_05_03_03.asp?switched=on&echo=812154309" target="_blank">Go Battery article</a><!--colorc--></span><!--/colorc-->

Says there it has a three year warranty. I still have the receipt, although it states on the receipt that "No electrical components can be returned".

I'm assuming that doesn't apply to batteries? ( Especially when its just over a year old ).

I'm going round to the parts dept at the dealer tomorrow when I'm off in the afternoon, but I thought I would just check here first.

1. Disregarding the "No electrical components can be returned" thing, I'm assuming they will replace my battery under warranty?

2. Anyone bought a "Go" battery and had to return it for a replacement within the warranty period?

vauxhall GO batteries have a 3 year unlimited mileage warranty starting from the date you purchased it. take it to any dealer with your invoice and they will test the battery to determine whether it is faulty. if it is then they will provide an new one FOC but you don't then get a new 3 year warranty, only the remainder of the original 3 years.

the green indicator doesn't get its greenyness back after a re-charge.

Cheers for that, Davefly.

So the indicator remains black after a recharge then? That would kinda make sense tbh.
