They help keep your mirrors free from rain drops when stationary or at low speeds & therefore helps prevent traffic grime & dirt sticking to the mirror & obscuring your vision. Calibra mirrors are bad enough to see what's going on when they're clean lol . My car gets used in the rain lots , it's not a trailer queen that comes out for shows so they'll serve a purpose as well as look good .
If you look at truck mirrors , some of them have a similar lip built in .

That's the old girl out of hibernation as of yesterday :) big thanks to craigyboy for the use of his driveway over the winter [THUMBS UP SIGN]
Took her for a wash & then a quick check over at the garage , only issue was the return petrol pipe had rusted through at the clip so they were both replaced ImageImageImageImage

Cars running great & I'm enjoying driving her again :D

My W.I.P

by John Owens » Mon Oct 19, 2015 1:46 pm

A quick update as I've not posted for a while , had the auld girl up for an MOT & to my surprise it passed !!! So after enjoying driving it again i made arrangements with Calibra Guru Craig who fitted some new parts I'd gathered for it .he did a smashing job & can't thank him enough , even when he was upto his eyes working on his own two cars , it wasn't a problem for him to help me out . Top bloke ! :) Image

I also fitted new front pads , an offside headlight , re wired the heated seat on the drivers side .
She's running & driving absolutely spot on :)

My W.I.P

The rear pipes were slightly corroded so Craig kindly offered to sort them out for me . The fluid was all replaced & the full system bled up . The brakes feel so much better now :)

I also got a new thermostat as the last one was stuck opened I think . It took ages to warm up & the temp gauge only ever rose when you were stationary . The heaters much better now too ,so bring on the winter :D

Thanks Mark btw :)
