PHOTO UPDATE!

So Windows are tinted and looking slick!

BEFORE:

There was no Tint previously whatsoever! I always felt naked in a way sitting inside ;) no privacy.. no mystery :P

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

AFTER:

I should have done this sooner!
If it keeps the inside cooler.. awesome! But Im loving the sleeker look!
Driving last night was the first time I wasn't blinded by headlights of tailgators reflecting from side and rear view mirrors :P
Lets hope I dont fall into habit and open the windows as I usually do.. its a habit but I have to resist.. two days minimum to make sure everything is settled and not going to peel off since its been installed yesterday! gotta wait a few days :/

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

GUYS AND GIRLS!
OPINION TIME!!!!!

After receiving the car.. to my horror.. the rear windshield spoiler was removed! I guess so they could measure on the outside of the car how much tint they need.
I have a photo with it on and off!
Which to go with?
I'm used to it on there.. so to me right now it looks empty and bare.. but im starting to like it. On the other hand it becomes my cali im used to with it on!
Decisions decisions what do we think!?

Spoiler on...
Image

VS

Spoiler off...

Which has your vote!?
Without, makes the car look sleek and the rear lines aren't messed up.. but with it on, gives it a little somethin somethin.. and I understand not many cali's have them ay?

Has to be off, I'd think about taking the black bits off the rear bumper, for me they let the car down. If you want mud flaps get some proper ones.

as for the black vinyl on the rear bumpers.. they were done by the previous owner when I got it! Probably hiding damage.. I didn't install them. I've been thinking of taking them off when I get round to respraying the rear bumper.. its a little faded!

I'd think it was more to stop stone chips, people do do odd things to there cars.

yeah that could be it to be honest.. gd point!
having a close look doesn't seem to have any missing or vacant blotches where the black vinyls are so yeah might just be small chips!

Thanks guys!
yeah with it off definitely makes the wiper changing much easier! i'll be able to install white rear wiper too now to match the front wipers. and also washing the car then shammying the rear windshield always had pesky water droplets from under the spoiler would stream down the window and annoy me so much! none of that anymore lol

Use a towel not a shammy, you can get them from any good detailing website

Isn't that the shammy's purpose? lol a cloth that soaks up water and doesn't leave water droplets?

A towel will absorber the water better and reduce any scratches as you only need to apply and then pat the towel, any grit is held in the long fibres ...a shammy is flat with no long fibres and thus will transfer any grit right onto the paint and cause scratches

I think our definitions of shammys.. Differ somewhat.. I'm referring to the microfiber cloths that are designed for drying water off glass. It's all I've ever used. I mean a dry rag would manage but aren't designed to be wrenched dry by hand easily.. Whereas a shammy is..

UPDATE!

Just messing with this Idea. It was to make a template of the word Calibra that fits over the 3rd brake light so when the brake is applied.. the letters C, A, L, I, B, R, A, shine up!

Image

Image

I simply used black paper as a template, drew the letters, cut the letters out with a stanley knife and presto! An hour of fussing around, designing, cutting and fitting.. we have a rough copy!

Would probably have to laminate the paper so it doesn't get wet when it rains.. or Im thinking a same design but in black acrylic/plastic.

Like I said thought I'd give this idea a crack! It almost came out as I imagined..

We are all entitled to our own opinions. Maybe it's not showing up well and doing it justice in the picture. I dunno. I like it
