I removed the 'Old' damaged V-Grille today...

I also prepared the newer undamaged V-Grille, for fitting on the SMK Bumper!
It certainly lost some of it's distinct 'Calibra look' without it...

Which do You prefer???

The V-Grille is a Distinct Post 1995 Calibra feature!

That's actually one of the main reasons, why I chose to put it back on...
Being that My Front Bumper is NOT the Original one, I wanted to Upgrade the look, but maintain the Calibra traits...

Same concept goes, with the Rear Badges...
I prefer to keem them on, as I want people to know it's a Calibra! Instead of them asking Me: 'What's that Car???

Eddey's V6 SHIPMENT

by EddeyDancer » Mon Nov 14, 2011 3:23 pm

*** FINALLY THE SHIPMENT HAS ARRIVED!!! ***

After spending nearly all of 2011 shopping and importing, the Shipment is here!!!

It's taken alot longer than first anticipated, but I wasn't in any great hurry either...
There'll certainly be some ACTION happening in my garage, over the next few months!

Anyway, I finally finished checking, unpacking everything and cleaning up most parts...
There ended up being more three times as much packaging, than there was actual parts!

But I'm very pleased and excited with everything, and nothing was damaged in Transit!

The 3 Phases are: Interior, Motor and Suspension...

I'm hoping to get motivated, and have most of the work done, by the end of January 2012

Eddey's V6 - More LED's

by EddeyDancer » Tue Nov 15, 2011 8:52 pm

Yesterday I fitted some more LED's...

The Red Bulbs I put into the tail lights, provided a much better tone of Red than the Standard Bulb...
The same thing goes with the White Bulbs, that were fitted into the Reverse Light sections...
I tried the White Bulbs in the Rear Fog section, but the Red Bulb gave a better tone of Red...

The only issue I had with the LED's in the Tail Lights, was with the Rear Indicators!
I fitted the LED's in the Front Indicators with the 'Flasher Fix Relay' and they worked fine!
But when I fitted the Rear Indicator LED Bulbs, there were issues... I suspect that the 'Flasher Fix Relay' is not up for it!

So I'll look into that at some stage, but for now the Standard Indicator Bulbs will do!

Eddey's V6 - INTERIOR UPGRADE

by EddeyDancer » Sat Nov 19, 2011 7:51 pm

COMMENCED THE INTERIOR PHASE!!!

Yesterday I spent about 12 hours working on the 'New Look' Interior Upgrade...

I 'Stripped and Cleaned' most of the Interior, being seats, centre console, door trims, pillars, boot trims and headliner!
I then went over everything in great detail, and tightened any loose screws and replaced the many broken/damaged clips!

I also located the 'Heated Seat' wiring beneath the carpet, replaced the 'Boot Inner Trims' and replaced the Sunroof Motor!
So now I just need the Head Lining re-done, and then I can start putting things back together again...

Being a Perfectionist, I like to take my time and do things properly... But it's looking heaps better already!

Eddey's V6 - LED's fitted in Dash

by EddeyDancer » Mon Nov 21, 2011 1:14 am

Commenced the White LED Dash Upgrade...

The improvement was instant, and the Photos will confirm that my effort was worthwhile!!!
I also discovered that the suspected blown bulb in the 'TC Light' in the Instrument Panel, actually had NO bulb in there!
The Dials took 4 White LED's, but I also placed a few more LED's in the 'Mostly Used' sections of the Instrument Panel...

The Job really wasn't as difficult, as I was expecting it to be...

Re: Eddey's V6 Profile

The Interior Phase had to be put on hold, as the Roof Liner was at the Trimmers...

So I thought I'd try and remove the Throttle Body and Traction Control Motor, without removing the Manifold... FAILED!!!
But this actually turned out to be a good thing, as I ended up removing the Manifold and did a Very Detailed Service!

I was so determined to finish this Job, that I stayed in the Garage for 16 Hours... 15:00 - 07:00
I took My time, being it My first attempt at removing the V6 Manifold, but I did a Top Quality Job...

STAGE ONE: V6 Manifold and it's Components

1 - Removed and Stripped the Manifold
2 - Thoroughly Cleaned the Manifold with Carbi Cleaner
3 - Thoroughly Stripped and Cleaned the Throttle Body
4 - Thoroughly Cleaned the Replacement Traction Control Motor
5 - Thoroughly Cleaned the Replacement Idle Control Valve & Hose

SUMMARY: Service done @ 173,770 Km

I finally decided to have a go at removing the V6 Manifold, and I'm so glad I did...
I gave everything a good clean up, and detected a few areas needing attention...

I took it for decent test drive, and it's running so much smoother than ever!!!
I was going to try fitting the Lower Divider, but one step at a time I think...

Even with some slight concerns at times, I'm very pleased with how it all went...
