My new Cali
My new Cali
Hi,
i'm new on here. My name is Steve and i live in Staffs
I bought the Calibra because i always wanted one, they always look so special and being a Vauxhall they aren't going to break the bank if it does go wrong, which it probably won't really, i have some great memories of them in the DTM (ITC?) so i have just bought a 1991 H reg Calibra with a little old c20ne engine.
The car appears to have been very well kept, 3 owners (in 19 years ??) no rusty panels and a minimum of small supermarket trolley type dents and chips. I'm looking at getting the mot things done now before the winter sets in, fuel pipes wishbones drop links etc, oh and a wheel bearing.
It's the second Calibra in the household really, the first was one was really bad, we (my eldest son and me) bought it from a guy we knew, 1/2 a mile from our home, it was one of those things you know you don't ever do. Go to look a car over in the dark when it's drizzling late one winters evening
We learn't a lesson there, sadly the car was scrapped.
Anyhow the one i have now is a red 8 valve.
The Ogry name comes from the number plate, it's H190 GRY

Hello and Welcome
Re: My new Cali
Hi,
as soon as i can get the car back off my son i will wash it and take some pics.
Thanks for the welcome.
Does everybody on here do their own maintenance?
I should be able to manage the front wishbones and droplinks but the rear bushes (are they rosejoints like on a Vectra?) will probably be too much for my knackered old back!
If anybody knows a good garage in Staffs, near Burton or Derby if poss i would be gratefull.
Thanks again for the great welcome!

Re: My new Cali
i think most of us do all our own maintenance, and no the rear bushes arent like the vectra , the calibr set up is totaly different, it is infact very similer to the omega
