Cheers guys!

Not going to be much going on over the next few months as like Ally's, mines also been tucked away for the winter & won't be emerging until at least the spring. Got one of my other cars to get back on the road in March (that's been garaged for 4 years now) but should get some good time in the summer to get some more tidying done.

Nooooooo, no temtations please! Anyhoo, I'll really be looking for a whole donor car so I rob it of other necessary parts as I go along. Bloody good price though just bad timing.

You know you're always welcome Dan :)

Get the V6 in mate, I'm sure I can source some cheap G cams for you :)

All you got to do is go out in the Veccy a bit more. When the inevitable happens, you have your donor car

Only kidding mate, I know you're just biding your time so the job gets done properly 8)

Perhaps I'm being lazy or to be totally honest, don't necessarily possess the skills for the 3.0/3.2 conversion.

Honestly, I'm happy enough with a 2.5 & with a full donor car I'd have everything I'll need to do the job without any re-wiring or other "fannying" around. There's more than just the engine, loom & ECU that I'd need from said donor for an 8v to V6 conversion.

I'd be doing every major job on the donor engine once it's out & at it's best time for accessibility (head gaskets, cam belt, waterpump to name but a few) so I've got a precident to start with. I prefer the idea of taking the "V6 underdog" & dragging a few more BHP out of it & feeling proud that I've done it, that's just me though.

I spend most of my time driving my missis & two small boys around so I'm quite accustomed to "driving like Miss Daisy" at the moment, 200bhp ish with less transplant effort will do me just fine.

thats basically what i did to mine, i found a v6 with dodgey bodywork but good running gear and i transplanted the whole lot int mine :D

If I get lucky & find the cash sooner, you have first dibs on the 8v lump. 95k & well looked after! We'll have to sort out a pint or something soon.

Spent 4 hours today replacing the o/s rose bushes on the Vectra which is a damn site better than the 9 hours it took me to do the n/s ones just before Crimbo. The learning curve! :D

I did, bugger trying to do that in-situ. Large ammounts of Copper Ease, a big socket & an even bigger hammer!
