little update

im picking up some front legs today with new shock's, springs, hubs, bearings, calipers etc another bay bargin
and the plan is .................... oh i cant tell ya yet but i can say that everything is gonna look much better when the wheels are done to match
also the front end is going to get blessed with all new parts and i might even put some -35 springs on the back to level it off

well operation front end started this saturday

this weekend (well saturday anyway) i have been hammering my fingers, swearing, grinding and bleeding

this is what i started with

after a bit of grinding and sanding


everything was going well till i started the other side, i couldnt budge the caliper retaining bolts so i decided to cutt em off and then try and get the bolts out
not a happy Panda

so i gave up on one side


and some more shiny stuff to go on next weekend

you need to get some proper tools then

yeah i know i have the basics a large selection of hammers the trusty halfords 120pc kit brute force and ignorance
but could i get the fecking thing to budge.......... b****** thing

so no 10mm allen key socket and a breaker bar then...you need some proper tools if your going to play with cars....spring compressors will be handy for changing them inserts....and a vice or workmate with a BIG set of stilsons

the inserts is easy i always use a hammer and chisel i used the 10mm and a 4 ft bar but that didnt work so i have two choices really
get hold of another pass side leg and referb it in my own time or take the one off the se3 sand it paint it replace the shock etc all in one day,

i did try heat and i did have a good allan key when i started but not anymore oh well live and learn i suppose

well ive got another leg with a failed bearing so i will be sorting that out tonight as we have a press at work
then its game on the weekend painting and fitting shocks and suspension to the refurbed legs and if i have the time fitting em as my poor cally aint too well when it comes to bumps, turning, stopping i dont think it would last another week

thanks to monkey i got another leg but it needed a new bearing and painting, no pics of the bearing being pressed as it was done at work

well i got my arse into gear yesterday and replaced the front suspension and bits apart from the tracking (i think i forgot the 3/4 turn of the tie rods) everything is Gravy

yep everything is ready to be tracked in i have tested everything so they best not moan. but the place i use are a good bunch of lads
the tie rod was being a b****** so i just cut it off in the end,and i can report back she is running fine now but everything needs to be nipped up a turn or two as its all settled,didnt think it would take you long to post that one Rob
