classic car rescue CH5

by Fraz » Thu Oct 11, 2012 9:49 pm

been watching this since the start and am I the only one that would NEVER let them near a car

first show.....Jag E type, they whole thing was so torturous to watch with the worse being the after market sun roof left in along with using second hand brakes and suspension

then Porsche 911 ....same old rubbish and if you looked carefully Porsche was shown in the background of the first show, colour choice was terrible as was the workmanship

then tonight the MGB what a farce that show was, they get it started for what was menat to be the first time and then they are at the rear of the car moving stufff around...and it starts to lose water. Now I would have been there watching for leaks on a first start up, but then it turns out to be a loose jubilee clip!!! Bernie says " I should have checked them" .....funny they look all new to me as do the hoses and a few other parts on the engine

and would one of the car to be done next turn out to be a blue mini, as it was shown on a ramp then it gets covered up, or maybe the triumph hereld

that program and the capers those guys get upto are scary look at the state of that MG and anyone that has ever owned one will know about the inner sills and castle section and from what was shown on that show they didnt even check them. they never even changed any fluids

yep i noticed all the new under bonnet bits that supposedly hadnt been changed inc all the new jubilee clips

if i bought a project and it was that rotten that the full rear axel fell of when lifted i would have scrapped it there and then

i feel sorry for who ever wins these cars

gotta say a p**s poor show :bazooka:

Seems theres a lot of shortcuts taken to get the cars finished and it's funny how they never show the restoration of the engine. Funny to watch them arguing all the time though.

That B never got properly repaired in that timescale and at that cost. As well as the rear axle mounts (that were fixed perfectly first go!!!) the state of the headlight surrounds and the A pillar bases was dire.

I would hate to see that back on the road.

No mention of a MOT within the (artificial) time limit either.
