i rarely drop below 80mph most days except in town etc

and if they make it 80mph then peopel will think its fine to travel at 90mph

better idea is variable limits according to the road and time of day...like long straight section of motorway after mid night to 6am should be 100mph if its fine and dry but only 60mph (or lower) if its raning etc

The govt want people to drive faster to use more fuel. This = more duty and more vat. But don't be surprised when they catch you for doing 81mph!
